A SUPERIOR TRAINING PROGRAM FOR THE MMA ATHLETE

The EneSys Performance training program provides a comprehensive approach to training that maximizes energy systems, fosters mental composure and achieves optimal performance for MMA athletes.

Considering the rigorous demands placed on MMA athletes, they stand as exemplary all-around athletes, necessitating the engagement of all ten fitness components during their workouts. These athletes prepare for intense fights lasting multiple rounds with minimal rest intervals. As a result, the anaerobic glycolysis system typically takes precedence over the other energy systems throughout the entirety of a fight.

In such high-stakes scenarios, it is imperative for the athlete to possess a profound understanding of their physical capabilities. Knowledge of one’s limits, optimal exercise intensity, muscle engagement, proper breathing techniques and estimated energy replenishment times are paramount. EneSys Performance provides the way to maximize the duration and control of energy systems and hence optimize the athlete’s performance, placing particular emphasis on improving one’s stamina, arguably the most crucial fitness component of an MMA athlete.  Noticeable results can be observed after only a few weeks of training.

Engaging in the program not only enhances fitness but also positively influences cardiovascular health, the respiratory and circulatory systems, muscle growth, bone strength, stress relief, leading to overall improved health and wellness.

We achieve this through meticulously designed high-intensity workouts that encompass various exercise modalities such as weights, functional movements, and bodyweight exercises. These comprehensive routines address all ten fitness components essential for MMA fighters: Cardiorespiratory endurance, muscle endurance, stamina, strength, power, speed, coordination, accuracy, agility and balance.

Furthermore, EneSys Performance effectively harnesses the concept of Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC), which is characterized by elevated oxygen consumption following intense exercise. During this phase, the body expends oxygen to restore muscle glycogen and repair damaged muscle proteins, thereby promoting fat burning. EPOC has been acknowledged as a significant contributor to weight management and loss, making it a crucial aspect of our training methodology.

It is important to note that the program, being one of high intensity and involving weightlifting, functional exercises and bodyweight movements, may not be suitable for individuals with cardiovascular diseases, spine issues or any problems related to muscles, ligaments, or tendons. Caution is advised to prevent potential harm as any mistakes in exercise technique can exacerbate existing conditions.  One to one consultation takes place with all our trainees to ensure that our workout program is suitable for them.
